Blue/Green Pathway
This is a practical work-related course that prepares pupils for further study and life in the work place. The course explores life-skills such as communication, numeracy and IT and helps develop not only knowledge but also self-discipline and confidence through a focus on the various subjects offered.
Course Content
The course is made up of a Level 1 Certificate in Workskills.
Workskills BTEC requires pupils to gain 13 credits by completing a selection of units including:
- Using a CV & covering letter to apply for a job
- Applying for jobs
- Achieving success at interview
- Managing your own money
- Developing resilience for work
This course has been designed to offer learners a flexible programme of study to improve their understanding and application of employability skills. This qualification has been developed to ensure that the knowledge, skills and understanding it provides are relevant, current and useful for learners and potential employers
Assessment
The above course has a practical basis and is non-examination based. Pupils will be required to compile a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate their achievements. All pupil portfolios are internally assessed and a sample of pupil portfolios and presentations are externally verified by Edexcel.
