Welcome to The Forest School and its Local Governing Body (LGB).

The LGB comprises a dedicated team of 10 Governors, drawn from parents, teaching staff
and the local community. The broad background of our Governors brings diversity to the LGB,
enabling us to support the school across all areas.

The role of the LGB is to help The Forest School be the best it can be for its students with the
aim of providing a safe environment and a challenging curriculum so that students leave the
school confident, articulate and caring young adults who can play a full and useful role in
society.

The LGB does this by ensuring:
• Everything the school does is aligned with its vision, ethos and strategy
• That school leaders are held to account, and
• That school educational standards are monitored

If your child is a student or future student at our school, I take great pride in welcoming you
