History

The History department at The Forest School aims to provide students with a better understanding of the world in which they live, the society in which they
live and their place within it.

We endeavour to develop passionate history students and life-long, successful learners with a sense of their cultural heritage by investigating and building knowledge of a wide range of historical events in order to help them understand and analyse the past and the present. We believe history provides students with a greater appreciation of current events and a greater knowledge of the wider world. We aim to equip students to ask perceptive questions, think critically, weigh evidence, sift arguments and develop perspective and judgement in order to become future citizens of a society which they understand, can explain and question and feel a part of at the same time.
