Gatwick Airport Museum

A small group of Year 7 students spent Challenge Day thinking about flight. In the morning they took part in a paper plane challenge. They worked like scientists to design and improve the design of paper airplanes to see which design would fly the furthest.  Then it was off to the Airport Museum, near Charlwood. The boys had a chance to have a look at some important planes from the Cold War. Their favourite was the Shackleton, which used to fly across the Atlantic looking for USSR submarines. It was a real treat to be shown around by a navigator who used to work on these lovely planes.

What a great day!
