End of a Dyson Era
Today we said goodbye to some much loved staff members of the Forest school.
Mr Reid has been with the school for more than a year, covering for Mathematics and Design and Technology. He leaves us to take up a new challenge in another school, still teaching Design and Technology.
We also say goodbye and thank you to two incredibly special people who have made events that seemed impossible, an achievable reality. Mr Good and Mrs Martin have led Dyson to victory at the end of the last academic year when they 'did the double' and won Sports Day and gained the most Merits out of the four communities, a feat that seemed impossible but they believed in Dyson and coached them towards their goal. They taught us the valuable lessons of working together and never giving up. They have given us many incredible memories over the years, not forgetting Mr Good's assembly about coats. They have impacted our lives greatly and passed on some important lessons that we will take with us. It is the end of a Dyson era, Mr Good and Mrs Martin have made a great difference to the school. For them the staff produced a special tribute video based around Queen's 'Don't stop me now' which was shown to all 1100 boys and all of the staff. A fitting way to say goodbye to two of our most loved. They will be missed by all of the students and staff.
Mrs Martin will be replaced as Community Leader by Mrs Ong (who has been working very closely with Mrs Martin for the past fortnight) and Mr Good will be replaced in his role as Head of Dyson by Mr Wickham, who has been working closely with Mr Good for years and has now defected from the Branson community! We wish both staff every success in the coming year.
We wish all three staff members all the best for the future.
Merry Christmas to you all and see you in 2019.
