Oxford University Trip

On Tuesday 8th May, eleven year 10 pupils accompanied by Mrs Brown and Mrs Mulligan, visited Oxford University for a taster day. We travelled by minibus to St. Anne's College for an introductory talk along with pupils from seven other schools. We then walked in the beautiful sunshine to Lincoln college for a tour around the impressive buildings along with a fabulous lunch in the very impressive dining hall. During the day the boys had the opportunity to talk to existing students about all aspects of becoming and being a student at Oxford. Finally we returned to St. Anne's College for three fascinating mini lectures on Fractals (Maths), The Wife of Bath (Medieval Literature) and Ebola treatment (Medical Anthropology). The boys found the trip both insightful and aspirational. Anybody considering applying to Oxford university or just interested in thoughtful debates and big questions should take a look at their website https://oxplore.org/.
